It is such a joy to teach people how to do this fun thing I do called musical improv! In these uncertain times with comedy theaters closing down, there aren't a lot of opportunities to learn or perform in person but I have had great success teaching virtually over the past year. I just began teaching a musical improv class at The Dallas Comedy Club (location is the old Dallas Comedy House in Deep Ellum). So if you are interested, sign up for my newsletter and I'll let you know about my upcoming independent improv workshops and the ones at DCC, co-taught with accompanist, Jeff Poteat .
If you are interested in taking my musical improv classes, you must have completed a level 1 improv class somewhere (anywhere!) BUT at DCC currently, we are allowing anyone as the theater is just getting started. That's right, NO PREREQUISITE! Here's the best part, you don't have to be funny or a great singer. I'll teach you how to do it all! I am very much a cheerleader and I promise that classes will always be fun and not scary. If you've tried improv before and say, "I'm terrible at it" or "I'm not funny" or "I've tried to before and didn't have fun," try it with me and I PROMISE to make it fun and something you'll enjoy doing.
